Wattle & Brick
When it comes to project management and house design, even the slightest things can have a significant impact. We at Wattle & Brick are skilled at combining these elements to produce a classic design. Our Canberra-based team specialises in designing interiors that maintain a homely feel while using modern and traditional design elements.
Established in 2011, Wattle & Brick is committed to ensuring that each client develops a deep appreciation for their revitalized home.

The Story
Ewa Karpinska-Dimond has been designing spaces since her childhood, beginning with dollhouses, progressing to her own bedroom, and ultimately taking on the renovation of her first 'bachelorette pad.' During informative university years, Ewa studied Stagecraft at the Australian National University, followed by Visual Arts at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, Poland. After successfully 'flipping' several houses and solidifying her passion through a TAFE course, Ewa achieved her aspiration of founding a boutique interior design company Wattle & Brick. The name reflects a distinctly Canberran identity, and the design philosophy is inspired by architectural styles of the 1930s and 1940s in the Australian Capital Territory. This includes notable Art Deco structures, Manuka estates, hotels and residences built for public servants and politicians, as well as the renowned 'Canberra Commonwealth' red brick homes found in the inner south and north. Additionally, Wattle & Brick incorporates elements from central and northern European design, featuring items such as corset and octagon tiles, Baltic pine furniture, and pepita fabrics.

Kitchen
The kitchen's traditional black and white design components, which are used throughout the enormous house, bring disparate areas together to create a unique yet cohesive atmosphere that appeals to the sense of distinctiveness of each room while still making effortless sense.

Formal Living Room
This room was entirely redesigned to create a classic area that uses layered features to create interest and appeal. The room has become a beloved destination for the chilly Canberra winter nights, and the finished product surpassed the clients' expectations.

Ensuite
The owners of this ensuite aimed for a modern look without sacrificing cosiness. This was accomplished by skilfully combining colour and shape with Italian Belmondo range tapware and Bisazza tile, which turned the bathroom into a tranquil haven with lots of concealed storage without sacrificing the sense of space.

Family Room
In this family room, the Wattle & Brick team combined central European elements with the Australian blending of indoor and outdoor and open-living lifestyle.
